Trauma 101

Everyone nowadays is talking about stress, trauma, triggers, PTSD, anxiety, flight/fight. In this introduction we’ll explore these concepts.

You can ask questions… find out what these words actually mean, and how they relate to you.

This will be a one-off workshop, lasting one hour, and can be seen perhaps as an intro to all the other workshops, explaining the link between mind and body and how this is affected by trauma and stress.

The sort of things we've all been surviving since Covid hit, and the sort of things we have to survive every day in modern life, the daily grind, burnout.

Jenny Brown is an experienced Psychodynamic counsellor of both individuals and couples, specialising in trauma counselling.

Dates for this workshop are October: 3rd, 10th, 24th, 31st 10am and 7pm at 7 Clairmont Gardens, Glasgow, G3 7LW.

Cost £20 per 1hr session.

Introduction to Nutrition

Have you noticed that you eat more the day after a poor night's sleep?

Or that you crave sugar when you are stressed?

Do you ever think that you just lack willpower, or that if you were more determined that you would overcome these feelings?

What you might not know is there is nothing wrong with your willpower. Instead, there are things going on in your body and brain which drive these cravings.

To overcome these feelings, we need to get to the root of what is happening.

In this series of workshops, you will learn about the main elements that work together to create health, and how you can make small, simple changes that will add up to better health.

There will be no weigh-ins or strict diet plan, but you will gain the knowledge and understanding to take control of your health, for life.

Madeleine has an advanced diploma in nutrition and weight management from Future Fit School of Nutrition.

She understands the challenges and barriers there can be that get in the way of reaching your health goals, and will help you to find creative ways to overcome them.

Writing for Self Discovery

Who are you?

What makes you tick?

What makes your heart sing and your blood boil?

Why do you say yes when you really want to say no?

What are you still thinking about decades later?

What has been left unsaid?

These workshops aren't about crafting the next bestseller. They are about gifting yourself the space to connect with your inner world for personal insight and healing.

You will be given the opportunity to engage with others in reflecting on what the writing experience was like for you.

You will never be asked to share, or show, your writing to anyone and participation in the reflective sessions is completely voluntary.

Offers to read your writing aloud will be welcomed, but your preference simply to write, think, and listen will be respected. This will be no less beneficial.

Workshops will begin on Wednesday the 11th October at 6.30pm for 6 weeks, at 7 Clairmont Gardens, Glasgow G7 3LW
